HOUSTON – Huge flames were shooting from a building on I-45 North overnight as it began to collapse.
Passing drivers recorded video of the blaze just before midnight Sunday.
The fire happened on the northbound side of the freeway just south of Crosstimbers. It appeared the building, located at 4045 I-45 North, is an old motel now being partially used as office space.
One witness was transported due to an asthma attack aggravated by smoke, according to the Houston FIre Department. The civilian was a bystander evacuated from the hotel across the street due to extremely heavy smoke surrounding the building.
There were no other injuries. There was no early word on a possible cause for the fire.
