HOUSTON -- Jenna Bush Hager told her colleagues and the TODAY show audience Monday morning that her grandmother, former First Lady Barbara Bush, is resting comfortably with family members.
“She’s a fighter. She's an enforcer,” the TODAY contributor said.
“We’re grateful for her, for everybody’s prayers and thoughts, and just know the world is better because she’s in it.”
Over the weekend a spokesman for Bush told the public the former first lady, 92, had decided to end medical treatment for a life-threatening illness.

"They are surrounded by family, but I think the fact that they’re together in this and he still says, ‘I love you Barbie,’ every night is pretty remarkable," she said.
Husband George H.W. Bush is at her bedside and holding her hand, spokesman Jim McGrath said over the weekend.
Sons Neil and Marvin and daughter Doro are also by their mother's side at the Bush residence.
Sons George and Jeb have visited her in the past week. McGrath said both are "calling constantly" for updates.
Bush Hager posted a photo late last week of four generations of Bush women.
