HOUSTON — A driver was killed in a crash early Saturday morning when police say he lost control of his pickup truck on the connector ramp from I-610 west to I-59 north.
This happened around 2:45 a.m. Houston police said the truck rolled off the bridge and landed on the street below before catching fire.
"What we can tell, this truck was going west on 610, and took the exit to go 59 north," HPD Lt. R. Willkens said. said. "And at some point before the wreck, lost control, unknown if they were going to fast, the reason they lost control at the turn, went over the edge and went down to the street below and that's where it caught on fire."
An investigation into what caused the crash was underway.
