HOUSTON – A blown out transformer is likely to blame for a fire that spread to two mobile home trailers in northeast Houston overnight.
According the Houston Fire Department, firefighters responded at 1 a.m. Wednesday to a house near Hilary and Dabney.
When HFD arrived at the scene, they found two mobile home trailers that were parked in the driveway, with heavy fire.
According to the homeowner, the power pole transformer at the top of the pole blew. He said he heard the pop and it sparked, which caught fire.
He said the fire then spread to one mobile home in one driveway, and then spread to a second mobile home in the driveway next door.
HFD was able to keep the fire from spreading to the homes, but there was minor heat damage on the side outside wall of both houses.
No injuries were reported. Both home owners were able to get out safely.
