Fire rips through home in Houston's east end

HOUSTON — Fire investigators are working to figure out how a house fire started just east of downtown Houston Tuesday evening.

The smoke and flames were seen from the East Freeway as the fire burned around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

KHOU Photojournalist Mike Orta spotted the smoke and stopped, capturing video of the intense flames.

Arson investigators are at the fire scene on Buck Street near the intersection of Crete Street.
