HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The Aldine Fire Department responded to a business near Bush Airport late Wednesday where a large fire was reported.
Responding firefighters pulled a second alarm to bring in more crews from other agencies while battling the fire.
The flames were first reported at about 9:30 p.m. in the 19700 block of Aldine Westfield.
Chief Dave Parker said there was a hydrant issue in the area, which delayed firefighters' response. The flames were contained to an outdoor area, so no structures were damaged.
The business where the fire happened refurbishes plastic pallets, according to the chief.
Parker said there were multiple non-toxic chemicals burning. It took about two hours to get it under control.
The fire department said the public should not be concerned with any hazmat risk.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
