HOUSTON – A two-alarm apartment damaged six to nine units early Friday morning in northwest Houston.
Firefighters responded to multiple calls around 5:30 a.m. at the complex located on DeSoto Street near Oak Bay Drive.
When Houston firefighters arrived at the scene, they found heavy flames coming from the third floor of the apartment building. They had to pull back once the fire hit an open common attic area.
However, once HFD released that a firewall in the building was containing the flames to a certain area, they were able to concentrate their efforts on that hotspot.
Most of the damage come from the units on the third floor, while a few others below suffered water damage.
HFD says one resident was treated for smoke inhalation, and no other injuries were reported.
