'Get everybody out': Man wakes neighbors as apartment complex burns in 2-alarm fire

A teenager was taken to the hospital after escaping a burning apartment.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Officials say a man went door to door waking up his neighbors to let them know their apartment complex was on fire overnight in The Woodlands.

Two units were on fire when firefighters arrived at the Holly Creek Apartments, according to the Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office.

A woman who lives at the complex with her children said they smelled something burning.

When they opened their front door, she said they saw a man running down the stairs.

"He looked at us and said 'There's a fire, get everybody out!'" she said.

The woman said she didn't know who he was but she's thankful for him because they "got out just in time."

"At the end of the day, you get your kids out and...that's all that matters. God's in control so we'll just take it one day at a time." she said.

Officials said a teenager was taken to the hospital and they are reportedly in stable condition.

It's unclear at this time what started the fire or how many people are displaced.
