HPD: Woman almost runs over officer after food fight at sushi restaurant

When HPD arrived at the scene, they found three women physically assaulting each other, including throwing food and water.

HOUSTON – A woman was arrested after police say she got into a food fight at a sushi restaurant and tried to run over a responding officer Wednesday night.

Houston Police say officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to a disturbance at a restaurant located in the 6300 block of Westheimer. When HPD arrived at the scene, they found three women physically assaulting each other, including throwing food and water.

One of the women started to leave as police responded, and they say she almost ran over an officer who tried to block her exit. Luckily, the officer was able to move out of the way.

Police then followed the woman in her vehicle as she refused to pull over. She headed to her home in the area of Pinemont and Ella.

Once the woman arrived at her home and pulled into her driveway, she refused to come out of the vehicle, police said. They had to use a tool to safely punch out her window and take the suspect into custody.

While the woman was in custody, she had to be restrained after police say she kept kicking them.

The case will be referred to District Attorney’s Office for charges.
