Road to 2017: 'Super Bowl LIVE' auditions held in Houston

Hundreds of acts hoping for their shot at performing during Houston's Super Bowl celebrations began auditioning for judges Saturday.

Hundreds of acts hoping for their shot at performing during Houston’s Super Bowl celebrations began auditioning for judges Saturday.

Organizers expect more than 400 performers will try out for the roughly 100 spots.

The acts won’t actually perform inside NRG Stadium during the big game.

Instead, they’ll be play as part of the Super Bowl LIVE celebration downtown which will run for nine days leading up to kickoff.

“The NFL is big and I know this place is going to really be jumping around NFL time,” said singer RL Bell before his audition Saturday. “RL is supposed to be a part of that.”

The auditions will continue the next two days, but organizers say all spots are booked.

If you want to a part of the performances video submissions can be emailed to auditions@housuperbowl.com through Oct. 28, 2016.
